This carefully planned day provides valuable time for your body to adjust to the thinner air while allowing you to rest and recover at altitude. Your mountain guide will monitor your wellbeing and provide guidance on hydration, pacing and altitude awareness throughout the day.
The surrounding Mawenzi Peak scenery provides a dramatic setting for this important stage of the trek. After the acclimatization hike, enjoy lunch, rest and prepare for the crossing towards Kibo.

With Kibo Peak rising dramatically ahead, the trail provides a powerful sense of approaching the summit.
Arrive at Kibo Hut, the final overnight stop before your summit attempt. After an early dinner, settle down for several hours of rest before beginning the demanding night ascent. Your guide will provide final instructions and ensure you are prepared for the summit stage.

Reach the summit around sunrise and take time to celebrate this extraordinary achievement while enjoying the spectacular high-altitude scenery. After your summit experience, begin the long descent towards Kibo Hut before continuing down to Horombo Hut, where you can enjoy a well-earned rest and overnight stay.
