Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) where you’ll be warmly welcomed by your professional Pita Safaris driver-guide. Enjoy a scenic transfer to Arusha, passing lush coffee plantations, banana farms, and the fertile slopes of Mount Meru. Depending on your arrival time, relax at your lodge, explore Arusha’s vibrant cafés and craft markets, or unwind by the pool as you prepare for the safari ahead.
This overnight stay allows you to acclimatize while experiencing Tanzania’s safari gateway.
After breakfast, depart Arusha for Lake Manyara National Park, beautifully positioned at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Enjoy an afternoon game drive through lush groundwater forests, open grasslands, and the soda lake shoreline. Expect to see elephants, giraffes, hippos, large baboon troops, and—if lucky—the park’s famous tree-climbing lions resting in acacia trees.
Lake Manyara’s compact size and scenic diversity make it a perfect introduction to Tanzania’s wildlife.
Following breakfast, journey toward the iconic Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with sweeping highland views. Optional stops include scenic viewpoints or Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most significant archaeological sites.
Arrive in Serengeti in time for lunch before embarking on your first afternoon game drive. The vast savannah opens before you, dotted with acacia trees, roaming elephant herds, grazing zebras, and predators surveying the plains from rocky kopjes.
Spend a full day immersed in the Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. Track powerful lion prides, observe cheetahs sprinting across open plains, and watch massive herds of wildebeest and zebra moving along ancient migration routes (seasonal).
The Serengeti’s sheer scale ensures constant wildlife encounters and exceptional photography opportunities throughout the day.
Same as Day 3
Enjoy another full day in Serengeti, allowing deeper exploration of different regions of the park. Morning and afternoon game drives increase your chances of spotting elusive leopards, large predator interactions, and dramatic wildlife moments.
For an unforgettable experience, opt for a hot air balloon safari at sunrise, floating silently above the plains before enjoying a champagne breakfast in the bush.
Same as Day 3 & 4
After a relaxed morning game drive, depart Serengeti for the lush Ngorongoro Highlands. The scenery changes dramatically as rolling plains give way to misty forests and volcanic landscapes. Optional cultural stops include Olduvai Gorge or Maasai village visits.
Arrive at your lodge perched on or near the crater rim, offering breathtaking views into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.
Rise early and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive across its wildlife-rich floor. This natural sanctuary supports elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, flamingos, and the rare black rhino, offering one of Africa’s best Big Five viewing experiences.
After a picnic lunch near a hippo pool, ascend the crater and transfer back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight, concluding an unforgettable Tanzanian safari.
