A short, comfortable drive takes you to Sarova Panafric Hotel, one of Nairobi’s finest midrange hotels with ensuite rooms, lush gardens, and an inviting pool—perfect for relaxing after your international flight.
Depending on your arrival time, you can unwind at the hotel or explore Nairobi’s top attractions, from the Giraffe Centre to the Karen Blixen Museum.
- Travel Tip: Arriving early? Ask your guide about Nairobi’s hidden gems—perhaps a local coffee roastery or an evening safari in Nairobi National Park.
- Your Kenya midrange safari is just beginning—rest well before tomorrow’s journey to the legendary Masai Mara.
Distance: ~18 km | Drive Time: ~30 minutes

Day 2: Nairobi to Masai Mara – Into the Heart of the Wild
After a hearty breakfast, set off in your private 4x4 safari vehicle toward the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations. The drive takes you through the Great Rift Valley, with scenic viewpoints perfect for photo stops.
Arrive at Mara Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. This comfortable midrange lodge offers sweeping views, cozy rooms, and authentic African décor.
In the afternoon, head out for your first Masai Mara game drive. Keep your camera ready—this is Big Five territory, where lions, elephants, buffalo, and leopards roam freely alongside giraffes, zebras, and antelope.
- Safari Moment: As the sun sets, watch the savannah turn golden, then return to your lodge for a delicious bush dinner under a star-filled sky.
- Ready to experience Africa’s most iconic safari landscapes? Let Pita Safaris take you there.
Distance: ~280 km | Drive Time: ~5–6 hours

Day 3: Full-Day Masai Mara Safari – Big Five & Endless Plains
Rise early for a full-day game drive in the Masai Mara, home to some of the most abundant wildlife on Earth. Your expert guide will navigate the plains, rivers, and acacia woodlands in search of lions on the hunt, cheetahs scanning the horizon, and elephants grazing peacefully.
During the Great Migration (July–October), witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of wildebeest and zebras crossing the Mara River—an unforgettable safari moment.
Enjoy a bush picnic lunch near the river before continuing your afternoon safari.
Optional activities include a sunrise hot air balloon safari or a visit to a traditional Maasai village to learn about their rich culture.
- Photography Tip: The soft morning and late-afternoon light in the Mara creates stunning wildlife portraits—keep your zoom lens handy.
- Dreaming of close encounters with Africa’s wildlife? The Masai Mara delivers every time.

Day 4: Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru – Flamingos & Rare Rhinos
After breakfast, depart the Masai Mara and journey toward Lake Nakuru National Park, famed for its flamingos, rhinos, and diverse birdlife. Stop for a picnic lunch along the way, enjoying views of Kenya’s rural landscapes.
Arrive at Lake Nakuru Lodge, set within the park and offering lake views and close proximity to wildlife.
In the late afternoon, head out for an evening game drive. Lake Nakuru is one of the best places in Kenya to see white and black rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, and perhaps a leopard resting in the acacia trees.
- Did You Know? Lake Nakuru is part of the UNESCO-listed Rift Valley lake system, rich in biodiversity and scenic beauty.
- Looking for rhino sightings and stunning lake views? This is the place.

Check in to Muthu Lake Naivasha Country Club, a charming colonial-style retreat surrounded by manicured lawns and acacia trees, where giraffes and waterbucks often roam freely.
In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari across Lake Naivasha, gliding past hippos and watching for African fish eagles. Continue to Crescent Island for a unique walking safari, where you can stroll among zebras, giraffes, and gazelles without the confines of a vehicle.
- Safari Moment: Standing just meters from a wild giraffe, with nothing but open grassland between you—it’s a completely different kind of safari thrill.
